4Our Overall Rating

4.5 Customer reviews

“The rich bass listening experience, clear sound, good noise-isolating feature and impressive design”

Sony MDR-XB90EX as advertised promised the high performance of bass thanks to its Advanced Direct Vibe Structure, which fortifies sound isolation to keeps the bass in seal. It seemingly gains mind blowing bass performance with 16mm driver unit, which is packed in very small size. Though I looks a little more sturdy than other with 12mm driver.

Assist fitting keeps the earbuds in position

This flat wire type prevents the wires from knotting to each other

Assist fitting is functional for a more secure fit. Ear tips are made up of hybrid silicone rubber, which works pretty good for noise-isolating. The brilliant vertical in-ear design make wearers feel less weighty and avoid discomfort for a long hours of listening sessions.

It may not appropriate for some fitness activities. Earbud body is a little large. It also has an evident microphonics, which is tackled by a clip.

Look at some key features of SONY MDR-XB90EX.

  • 4 Hz – 27000 Hz Headphone Frequency Response ( the normal range is 4 Hz-20000 Hz)
  • 200 mW of Max Power Input
  • 16 mm Headphone Driver Units
  • In-ear-canalphone Design
  • Neodymium Magnet
  • Impedance 16 ohm

Connectivity: Wired connection, 1.2 m cord length, you should read “Why do your earbuds always get messed in your pocket?” to find out with this length, how your earbuds will look like when you put it in your pocket.

As not all bass earbuds are reasonably good, since they may be over bass (too heavy), which results in bloated and boomy sound. The Sony MDR-XB90EX takes the way to lead considering the balance, deepness and rumbling sub-bass.
