The over ear wearing style keep earbuds fit the most stable in the ear, meaning no more sound leakage and the bass is sealed in.

The overall sound of FiiO F9 is not well balanced, it won’t be for purists or critcal listeners but what F9 could do is reproducing the dynamic and enegertic sound. The treble is just acceptable because feel quite distorted at high volume.

The bass of FiiO is deep and rich, you can feel the bass extended to sub or upper.

3Shure SE 215, Versatile Earbuds, Sounds Great With Strong and Solid Bass

Shure215 bassy earbuds

The cheapest in SE series of Shure–SE215, SE315, SE425, SE535 with the same design concept, offers the exceptional sound for this price range. For under $100 the Shure 125 earbuds have the strong performance that other competitors could be hardly matched both bass and clarity. Though, the detail falls slightly at highs, which is common for this price. Shure SE125 offers plentiful and tight bass. As it rocks, the treble is bright and not crunchy. It is also comfortable to wear and the unique curve design is merely found in Shure. For those who are familiar with Shure earbuds other than SE125 will feel a little overwhelmed bass. Used with foam or rubber eartips a long with curved design, Shure215 provides excellent sound-isolating. Lastly, the detachable cables is very durable.

4Fiio EX1, the Earbuds that match audiophile’s taste, is the best earbuds under $100

Best $100 earbuds for audiophiles
Titanium drivers packed in these earbuds

Of all earbuds you can find for under $100 that sound great, including Shure SE215, Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear M2 IEi, HiFiMan RE-400, and FiiO EX1, what is going to be the best among them? In terms of sound quality, it is hard to make final verdict since sound signature is varied, but you have build-quality and comfort are other factors to decide.

The FiiO EX1 needs several days to achieve its best performance, the process called, burning-in. Actually, the sound does get better after 4 days I pump into it many kinds of music. The EX1 sounds correctly over all ranges, bass is crisp and solid, mid-range is natural, and the treble is bright and clear. It seems durable with L-shape plug, and the cable is Kevlar-reinforced, which is less prone to tangle. The EX1 fit comfortably, and it is less intrusive into the ear compare to other earbuds in this list but it has to compromise the the noise isolating performance. FiiO EX1 comes in a wide array of eartips, most of them are single-flange silicone tips, a shirt clip, and hard carrying case are also included.

But they are not the comfortable earbuds I’ve tested, sometime I feel it edgy metal leaving some pain on my ears and the sound is not very pleasant to listen to.

Best budget bass earbuds

The Piston 2, an aluminium housing earbuds, looks really more expensive than its price. These budget bass earbuds overcomes the heck that normally other earbuds at this category counter, that is, crunchy treble and too bassy. They sound smooth and clear and pump the amount of bass, just enough make you feel how the true bass actually is. The Piston earbuds are my recommendation for best budget earbuds. They also rank #2 in our list for the best earbuds under $30.

HiFiMan RE-400 (2014)–For Audiophiles

Best earbuds under 100 HiFiMan RE-400 HiFiMan RE-400 (2014) the good thing about these earbuds is that I like the design with the aluminum housing, which is lightweight and easy to fit. It’s not that very appealing stuff, but make me feel solid and durable. The bad thing, I just wonder why they wouldn’t build the inline remote and mic and provide a carrying case. Overall, these sub $100 in-ear headphones’ sound couldn’t blow your mind but briefly the sound can be described by superior purity and brilliant accuracy for audiophiles. If bass is your high priority in sounding, the HE-400 is not for you. Over all ranges the Hifi focuses on great detail and balance, and they presents bass,  but I am quite sure, which is not boosted as powerful as Shure 215.See best noise cancelling headphones under 100

Monster iSport Victory–Best Sport Earbuds

best sport earbuds under 100

The Victory offers strong audio performance, and is very good for noise-isolating. They fit comfortably and securely with earhooks–winged stabilizers. It is a bass oriented headphones, but can’t be a bass monster. Overall, aside from sweatproof the well designed style and nicely refined sound are exactly what joggers look for.

The last pair I would recommend is Bose SoundTrue, known for high-end noise cancelling earbuds, Bose also did a great job for sub $100 earbuds. Eartips with wing don’t work very effective to isolate the noise compared to Monster, but they are very comfortable. And when the volume is rocked, I found the treble is still crisp and if not intended you will not be noticed with faint distortion while bass remains deep and well balanced.

The RHM is deep bass and impressively clear in treble, but surprisingly even with strongest beats it still keeps up with the sound detail. However,If playing hip-hop, Beats Tour 2.0 in direct comaprison is better in terms of smoothness and bass. While it is quite difficult to find any fault to complain about MA750, at highs you will feel a bit crunchy. Lastly these extra-bass earbuds cost a little more than $100.See best bass earbuds

All Facts About That Bass And How Does It Affect The Music?

Do you need extra bass earbuds?

Basically, bass describes the very low tones–Innenfidelity measures frequencies from 10-200Hz for bass response and sounds that are included in the music. This can be produced by several musical instruments such as bass drum, bass guitar, bass keyboard, tuba, trombone, and more but not always these tones are intended to prominently present in songs by recorders. The bass tone is normally incorporated in rock music, electronic music, rap, hip-hop, R&B, dance and even on orchestra to provide balance, harmony, and rhythm to the music. This tone is very unique in such a way that it supports the other tones in the music, and it defines the composition’s harmonic motion. It stresses the strong beats, thus, giving more life and power to each harmonic motion. However, some music genres don’t required much bass.

Most earbuds with excelent bass comes from dynamic drivers for sub-$100, which can process the wide range of frequencies and pump a substantial amount of air to diaphragms. If you are seeking for good bass earbuds with armature balanced drivers, you will expect to very high price tags–several hundred of $$$

If you are someone who loves a music with an upbeat, then, you should go for bass earbuds. The good thing with this type of earbud is that it captures the bass tone in the music, and emphasizes it, thus, defining the beat and harmony of the music that you are listening to. In addition, most of the bass earbuds have noise suppressing capability by eatips. While they are emphasizing the bass tones of the music, they isolate the noise at the same time, so that the listener will enjoy a clean and clear music. Too much bass can kill the songs you listen to because some songs when recorded at studio, were not intended to contain much bass. Other thing about extra bass such as bass precision, bass deep and definition should be considered.

Do you need extra bass? As Beat co-founder, Dr. Dre, once expained people aren’t hearing all the music, meaning earbuds don’t deliver the entire sounds of the music made, one of which is bass.

You are a fan of hip-hop or dance music? You go to the night club and listen to the dance music with strong bass making your entire body feel like moving. And you look for earbuds that can give you the same experience like in clubs. Then you’re going to search the brand you love. Here is the guide for you to pick up the best bass earbuds under $100.

SONY MDR-XB90EX with Extra Bass feature

When buying a bass earbud, you don’t just go to the store and pick the first one that catches your eyes with the “EXTRA BASS”. You have to go for a bass earbud that has a good quality and sonically balanced. There are several excellent bass earbuds that you can buy and this includes the RHA MA-750, a Scottish headphone maker, Shure215. Each one of these offers excellent quality, and they can be bought at an affordable price range of $59.99 to $150.

Avoid “crunchy, too bassy and distorted sounds” earbuds. When earbuds are played at high volume levels, these worse sounds are sometimes present because the drivers can’t not handle (process) the sound at certain sensitivity and frequency, which make you will hear harsh or crunchy sound. I like bass earbuds that have the ability to play music or high volume without any distortion and trouble to your ears (the treble may be crunchy at high volume when you want to hear music loud) and the details are not overwhelmed by beats. However, as far I’ve known some earbuds still sound too bassy or muffled, and the bass is to heavy.

To be able to do handle high volume without distortion, it should have drivers that can handle well bass frequency response. Most bass earbuds have a driver that can give a frequency response curve from 4Hz to 24 KHz. The earbuds from Sony have the good drivers to do so, because they can deliver a frequency response range of 4Hz to 25 KHz. Technically, the number doesn’t the matter but to handle the treble when played at high volume. SONY MDR-EX650 even offers 5Hz to 28kHz to prevent sound crunchy, one of my favorite bass earbuds under 100 $.

The price tags are ranged from $59.99 to $150 for best bass in ear headphones. Check out SHOP NOW for Discount prices.

What Is Considered A Great Bass?

When listening to the songs, you hear the bass, which creates the rhythm for the songs. The great bass, which is pumped up to some degree, is going to excel crisp, solid, powerful, and deep, and you should feel the harmony among these factors. Heavily enhanced bass may cause bloated and boomy sound. To measure the bass response, the innerfidelity evaluates the intensity vs frequency in the range of 10-200Hz, and earbuds with extra-bass label normally have the curve vertically in the higher position.

  1. I don’t think Sony xb90ex is eligible to be included in this list, since I’ve been looking for the better, not bommy, and overtone of bass like this pair. Probably, Hifiman is a nice attempt.

  2. I was considering getting the Xiaomi Piston 2 earbuds on amazon… They are actually still sitting in my cart! I think I may just go a head and get them. I need a pair for when I am going my strength training. I love hearing deep bass but I don’t want to wear full size headphones.

  3. I have tha jvc ha-fx1x earbuds and for 30$ sum odd dollars there absolutely stunning ! Never heard and felt bass like that ..get them ..nothing like em and sound quality is amazing to. Remember to get the very best sound make sure ur using tha right ear tips ! If u don’t u don’t get tha full sound and u will think there worse then they really are and for those jvc’s make sure u get the genuine one’s! There’s alot of fakes out there, read tha sellers reviews, look at tha price, if there like 9$ US ..there 99.9% fakes. They should run anywhere 17$-25$ and up. Absolutely nothing comes close to them for tha price of 30 bucks ! They are amazing budget earbuds that don’t sound like it !

  4. And they can easily compete with 200$+ earbuds in tha durability department ! Strongest earbuds I’ve ever used ..I’ve put them though literally what any headphone shouldn’t go thru ! They have lasted me over 3 years and still haven’t lost one beat! Still have speed to this day ! Never seen anything like it. I’m bein real and honest here..If ur basshead like me and I’m a bassaholic haha GET THESE ! If u don’t have 160-200$+ to spend on a pair of earbuds…u can’t go wrong.with these 😉

  5. I listen to Drum’n’Bass music and am trying to find the best bass boosted Chinese earbuds. I’ve checked HAVI and RHA but need more advices. In Italy we do not have much, luckily I live also in Shanghai.

  6. Personally I think Sony MDRXB50AP are the BEST in ear headphones for under $50($49 in store) bucks. The bass and sound quality is better than a lot of over the ear headphones, I’ve gone through many high-end brands. I grabbed them at BestBuy for $34 bucks after I informed the sales associate about their online price. They come in 5 different flavors like: black, blue, red, yellow and white but for some reason white is priced slightly higher and hard to fine here in the U.S. . . To take FULL advantage of sound quality you will need a music player app. The BEST android music player app available is POWERAMP in my opinion, it cost $3.99 at Google Play.
POWERAMP comes equipped with both an EQ and Tone controls. If you are ROOTED you can further enhance sound quality by installing Viper4Android FX. for tons more in audio enhancements. These in ear headphones posse deep bass but can be tuned to your liking as mentioned above, YES they play loud, YES they are noise canceling, YES they are comfy for long periods of used, YES they will last a very long time if you take care of them and YES. . . I would recommend these Sony in ear headphones to ANYONE. You will not be disappointed.
